Dan Swislow serves as partnerships manager and representative to Silicon Valley at the National Democratic Institute (NDI), a $100+ million, 1,300-person, non-profit organization with programs in 70 countries that works to strengthen democratic institutions worldwide. Dan leads the Institute's presence in Silicon Valley and facilitates strategic collaborations related to technology and democracy.

His work has supported NDI's co-founding of the Blockchain Trust Accelerator, coordination of the Code for All community, design of the Civic Tech Leadership Program and development of global projects on disinformation​ and advocacy for an open internet.

Dan previously worked in NDI's Washington, D.C., office as a governance specialist and continues to advise projects on open government and civic innovation. He helped found OpeningParliament.org, a community of 180 civic organizations in 80 countries, and worked to create the legislative branch component of the 70-country Open Government Partnership. Dan led the launch of the NDI Ideas Grant, a grant competition for NDI staff that has funded projects in Nigeria and Serbia.
